Protect your eyes from more than just sunlight. Solir Optics eyewear is engineered to manage ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR), and high-energy visible light (also known as “blue light”) to improve comfort, clarity, and visual performance in high-intensity lighting environments.
Solir Optics lenses use advanced filtration technology to reduce glare, enhance contrast, and support accurate vision where conventional eyewear falls short.
Why IR Protection Matters
Most eyewear focused solely on ultraviolet (UV) protection. While UV radiation is harmful, it represents only part of the light energy your eyes are exposed to in bright, high-heat, or artificial lighting environments.
Infrared (IR) radiation lies beyond the visible spectrum and is primarily associated with heat energy. Although you cannot see IR light, prolonged exposure may contribute to visual fatigue and thermal stress on ocular tissues.
Extended exposure has been associated with:
- Eye strain and visual fatigue
- Headaches or discomfort in high-intensity lighting
- Reduced visual precision in demanding tasks
- Cumulative stress from prolonged thermal exposure
These conditions are commonly encountered in:
- Indoor cultivation and grow rooms
- Greenhouse and horticulture facilities
- Industrial and shop environments
- Outdoor settings with intense or reflective light (water, snow, metal, sand)
Where Conventional Eyewear Falls Short
Traditional sunglasses primarily reduce visible light and block UV, but do not address infrared-related heat exposure.
Many so-called “blue light glasses” are designed to filter specific portions of visible blue light, often targeting screen-related wavelengths. They are not engineered to manage infrared radiation or heat intensity.
Solir Optics lenses are designed to address both.
